Aleksa Toskov
Alex is a freelance musician whose versatility has brought him to work in symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, musicals, and even rock bands. Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Alex has lived in many countries before finally settling on Canada. In his spare time, Alex enjoys playing chess, basketball, and attending live performances.
Si Yue Guo
Si Yue has studied everything from math and physics, to experimental physical chemistry, and is now dabbling in some theoretical physical chemistry and computer science. Born in Shanghai, Si Yue is a Montrealer at heart and wishes the Montreal Canadiens would do better this season. She also enjoys opera, knitting, and racquet sports.
Our Story
Seven years after meeting at a party, Alex orchestrated a surprise proposal (featuring a string trio and music from La Grande Belleza) during a trip to Chicago last year.
We look forward to a life together full of laughter, adventure, love, as well as hipster cafes, concerts, theatre, bistros and patisseries, and the occasional tennis or badminton game.
Please join us on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Toronto!
The Day Of
The wedding will take place on the unique and beautiful grounds of Massey College, a graduate residential college at the University of Toronto. Travel
We’ve included some information below for our guests coming from out of town.
By Airport
Toronto has two airports, Toronto Pearson (YYZ) in the west end of the city and Billy Bishop (YTO) in downtown Toronto. The city airport is home to Porter Airlines and Air Canada, both servicing short distance flights from Montreal, New York, Chicago, etc. Both airports are easily accessible by public transportation, UP Express, or shuttle bus.
By Car
It’s easy to get around Toronto by car, although it gets a bit chaotic downtown. For directions, Google maps is always a trusted source.
By Bus
Megabus, Coach Canada, and Greyhound all have service to downtown Toronto.
By Train
We love traveling by train and Via Rail brings you directly to Union Station in downtown Toronto, directly on the subway line. This could be a good option for those coming from Ottawa or Montreal. (Amtrak from New York might be a bit too long of a trip.)
Accommodations
We know that many of our guests are traveling to Toronto for the wedding. We recommend the following accommodations. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Hazelton Hotel (see details below). You can even stay in a student residence at Massey College. The Kimpton Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott are two other nearby hotels. Please let us know if we can help with any arrangements.

Registry
We know that many of you have traveled from far to join us. For all of you celebrating with us, your presence is enough. After eight years, we have accumulated lots of household items, and therefore have decided to forego a registry. However, if you would really like to give a gift, of course we’d be happy to accept any contribution to help us build our life together.
